I recently came across this image (and now I can't remember from where) and added it to the thousands I've catalogued and cross referenced under various titles from the rudimentary BUILDINGS to the oblique EMPTY. This image falls into the Traces, Marks and Indent catalogue, it's a recording of the smudges and marks left behind from a months use of of computer mouse. The artist had substituted their mouse mat for a piece of paper to record the evidence of use. It reminds me of the things that haunt me, those things that were once there and only their trace is left. Clay Ketters work has always inspired me especially as like me he was a carpenter by training, it's simplicity is decieving and it's composition enthralling, the domestic is always compelling for me. The link above shows some indent marks and traces that I've just uploaded to Flikr, if you've more, please send them through and if anyone can remember where I stole this image above from then please let me know.
