FredricksonStallard's Rorschach-shaped Felt #2 is a rug. Innately psychological in its shape, the black wool piece changes function and meaning in this photograph, as it hangs on the wall. The function becomes purely visual. To an uninformed visitor in this space and context, its original purpose may be completely imperceptible as well as unimportant. In the photograph, each object has an unused function (apart from the painting which hangs on the wall).
Objectively speaking and in short, this is a shot from The Apartment, a gallery in New York where CITIZEN:Citizen showed during the May 2006 Design Week.
Japan's +81 magazine managed to round up a few amazing graphic designers to show their prints during our takeover of The Apartment in May for Design Week. Shown right alongside this lovely lady is our rubber-dipped chandelier by Tobias Wong. This chandelier was the center of attention all week long, especially since it made the cover of the Metropolis guide to ICFF. (Not that we're bragging or anything.)
As of this week, CITIZEN:Citizen has store in store with the wonderful people at The Apartment, who are spreading their love. The new Store is spacious, lots of things to choose from and has a great view. check it out at The Apartment, and as they say, only 168 shopping days left till christmas.
