This week Henry Urbach and his team at the SFMOMA confirmed the acquisition of four pieces from CITIZEN:Citizen's collection. Doorstop by Tobias Wong, Cokespoon #1 by Tobias Wong & Ju$t Another Rich Kid, Cokespoon #2 by Tobias Wong & Ju$t Another Rich Kid and Swizzlestick by Tobias Wong & Ju$t Another Rich Kid.
We're really pleased at this, and feel that some recognition of these type of objects is long over due.
Tobias Wong is shown here on the cover of 002 Magazine with one of his gold pills, which he designed in collaboration with Ju$t Another Rich Kid. Inside, there are pictures from our show in Peel Gallery last month. All of our products, as well as Tobias himself, came out to show Houston that Citizen knows how to FUCK design.
Icon Magazine highlights CITIZEN:Citizen designers who showed "provocative... conceptual art with design discipline" at The Apartment in May. The New York exhibit featured Philip Wood, FredriksonStallard, Tobias Wong, Ju$t Another Rich Kid, Jimmy St. James and Jimmyjane. Icon features photographs of Candle #1 Red, Little Gold Fu*k Design, as well as Aalto Doorstop. Last but not least, they announce our online fashion photo shoots with ZOOZOOM. Two photoshoots took place over four days CITIZEN:Citizen was at The Apartment, and there have been further collaborations with ZOOZOOM (watch this space!).
