Laptop Compubody Sock

It's best not to question what is you are looking at, rather, bathe in it's awesomeness.  According to the good folks over at Instructables  you will need:
-a laptop computer, pda, or other electronic device
-yarn (I used about 10 skeins for this)
-knitting needles (straight, double-pointed, and circular)
-stitch markers
-stitch holders
-yarn needle
-scissors
-a sense of humor

Technology meets fashion, or fashion meets technology, this is far beyond quirky and it wins for that alone. It does solve a problem or you could just, you know, go to another room if privacy is your thing.

Tinc

It's been a pleasure to get to know Savannah who heads up the fashion brand Tinc based out of SF no less. She's one of those people whose fragility and strength are in equal measure and it shows in her work. Not limited to fashion her first book is published this year by Seven Stories press out of NY whose back catalogue reads like a who's who of the literary and political front lines, from the likes of Kurt Vonegut and Howard Zinn. The book tells her story of impersonating and embodying the role of J.T.Leroy. I've also been tipped off that she's going to be introducing a line of underwear inspired by her years playing/being J.T.Leroy the infamous writer. The underwear will mimic some of the restraints needed to disguise a body and turn a silhouette from one thing to another. anthropomorphic androgyny. It should be available in collaboration with a certain store whose name I can’t mention yet.

Nasty Gal

Well, the name may seem to say it all, yet the blog and fashion store concept is saying a lot more. Hope their site is going to grow as brilliant as their taste is. Congratulations to Nasty Gal.

Starstyling

Although I much prefer the AW 07/08 collection, Starstyling are still rocking their thing. This rainbow boho abugrahib/guantanamo piece is fun for all seasons. I think we'll be showing at the Jessica Silverman gallery in SF with these guys in August, so am looking forward to seeing it in person.
